Can I Get an Astrology Consultation During Rahu Kalam, Yamagandam, Ashtami or Navami?

Many clients have asked me questions like these before booking an appointment.

"Sir, tomorrow is Ashtami. Can we avoid that day?"

"Sir, our appointment falls during Rahu Kalam. Can we shift it to another time?"

"Sir, is it okay to get horoscope predictions after sunset?"

These are genuine questions because many people sincerely believe that choosing the wrong day or the wrong time might affect the consultation or the prediction.

My answer is simply No.

The outcome of an astrology consultation does not change just because it happens during Rahu Kalam, Yamagandam, Ashtami, Navami or after sunset.

Now an immediate question may arise.

"Does that mean Muhurtham, Rahu Kalam, Yamagandam, Ashtami and Navami have no importance in astrology?"

No. That is not what I am saying.

They certainly have their own importance in astrology. However, we should also understand where they are applicable and where they are not.

An astrology consultation is not an event that creates your future. It is simply a process of understanding what is already written in your horoscope.

Your birth chart does not change because of the day or time you consult an astrologer. Whether you consult me in the morning, evening, during Rahu Kalam, Yamagandam, on Ashtami or on Navami, I will still read the same horoscope and explain the same planetary combinations to you.

Over the years, I have come across a few interesting situations during my consultations. Let me share two real incidents from my own experience.

Over the years, I have noticed that many people are more concerned about the time of the consultation than the consultation itself.

That is one of the reasons why I wanted to write this article and explain my point of view in a logical and practical manner.

Today, most of my consultations happen online. Clients can usually choose a convenient appointment time based on both their availability and mine.

Now just imagine a different situation.

Suppose you visit an astrologer's office without an appointment. There are already many people waiting before you. Even if you arrive at a so called good time, your actual consultation may begin during Rahu Kalam or Yamagandam because of the waiting time.

Does that suddenly make the prediction wrong?

I don't think so.

Why I Personally Don't See a Problem with It

Please don't misunderstand my point.

I am not saying that Muhurtham, Rahu Kalam, Yamagandam, Ashtami or Navami are not important. They certainly have their own importance in astrology.

My point is very simple.

Getting an astrology consultation and making a decision based on that consultation are two different things.

During a consultation, I am only reading your horoscope and explaining what it indicates.

I am not creating your future.

I am not changing your destiny.

I am simply helping you understand what is already written in your birth chart.

The actual decision comes later.

After the consultation, you may spend a few hours or even a few days thinking about it. You may discuss it with your parents, spouse or friends. Finally, you will make a decision based on your own situation.

Now think about this for a moment.

Many people carefully choose an auspicious time for the consultation.

But do they also choose an auspicious time to think about the consultation?

Do they wait for a good Muhurtham before discussing it with their family?

Do they make sure their final decision is not taken during Rahu Kalam or Yamagandam?

In most cases, the answer is No.

That is because the consultation itself does not change your future.

It simply gives you clarity.

The decision you make afterwards is what leads you towards the next step in your life.

If someone believes that even thinking about important matters should be avoided during Rahu Kalam, then should we stop thinking completely for one and a half hours?

That is simply not practical. Our day to day life doesn't work like that.

Another belief I often hear is that horoscope predictions should not be given after sunset.

From what I understand, this practice may have had a practical reason in earlier days.

During those times, there was no electricity. Astrologers often depended on a burning fire stick or oil lamp for light. Keeping a burning flame very close to paper horoscopes carried a genuine risk of accidentally damaging or burning them.

So avoiding horoscope reading after sunset could have been a practical safety measure.

However, I am not aware of any convincing astrological reason that says a horoscope cannot be read after sunset.

Today, many consultations happen online.

A client living in the United States may consult an astrologer sitting in India, or an astrologer in India may consult a client living in another country.

When it is daytime in one country, it will naturally be nighttime in the other.

If horoscope predictions were truly not allowed after sunset, then such consultations would become impossible.

But that is clearly not the case.

When Should We Actually Consider Muhurtham?

After reading this article, some people may have another question.

"If astrology consultation does not require Muhurtham, then when should we actually consider it?"

In my opinion, Muhurtham should be considered when we are starting something important.

For example, starting a new business, entering a new house, conducting a marriage, beginning construction, signing an important agreement or any other significant event where a new phase of life begins.

These are situations where choosing an appropriate time has its own importance.

An astrology consultation is different.

It is not the beginning of an event.

It is a process of understanding your horoscope, your strengths, your challenges and the opportunities that lie ahead.

That is why I personally do not insist on avoiding Rahu Kalam, Yamagandam, Ashtami, Navami or after sunset for astrology consultations.

If a client is more comfortable choosing another day or another time, I completely respect that preference.

However, from my experience and understanding of astrology, I do not believe that the outcome of a horoscope consultation changes because of the day or time on which it is conducted.

Final Thoughts

At the end of the day, every person is free to follow the beliefs and practices that give them confidence and peace of mind.

If you personally prefer to avoid Rahu Kalam, Yamagandam, Ashtami, Navami or after sunset for an astrology consultation, I completely respect your choice.

However, based on my understanding of astrology and my experience of consulting thousands of horoscopes over the years, I do not believe that the outcome of a consultation changes because of the day or time at which it takes place.

The horoscope remains the same. The planetary positions remain the same. So, the prediction also remains the same.

What matters more is understanding the guidance correctly and making wise decisions at the right time. That has a much greater influence on your life than the time at which you receive the consultation.

I hope this article has helped you understand why I personally do not hesitate to offer astrology consultations during Rahu Kalam, Yamagandam, Ashtami, Navami or after sunset.
